Who We Are
"Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, sexually immoral, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners... And such were some of us. But we were washed, we were sanctified, we were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. But now in Christ Jesus we who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ." (1 Cor. 6:9ff.)
Contrary to common belief, the church is not a building. Neither is it a group of people who are "better than you." The Bible tells us that we are all sinners; the church is comprised of sinners who have been forgiven and delivered from their sins by Jesus Christ.
Our beliefs
Our congregation is part of the Christian Church. Our beliefs are determined by the Bible. The elders at Immanuel Presbyterian Church subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms, documents which summarize Biblical doctrine in a unified and carefully constructed statement of faith. We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
Our pastor
The congregation called Michael Tan, who was installed in 2021, to serve as their pastor. He and his wife Elizabeth want to love and to welcome all who come. The police recently stopped Michael for riding a Lime scooter with 5 of his children.
